Members of the Kyambogo Rugby Club have completed the skills program which was put in place to empower them off the pitch.
The players, coaching staff, and other administrative members went to through the training which was in partnership with Nyumbani Estate Managers and
The Club hopes the skills gained will help have an extra income off the field during the COVID-19 and post COVID.
“Kyambogo Rugby through its adorable partners Nyumbani Estate Managers and, launched a skilling program for the members which is 100% free. The team members that ensure the daily existence of the club have attained skills that will include painting, glass fitting, carpentry tile fitting, and real estate sales, ” reads a statement by the Club.
“The program has been in the works for a while, but it has come to its culmination at a very timely moment of the year. The members of Kyambogo Rugby are privileged to be taking on much-needed skills off the Rugby pitch that will see them better position themselves in Uganda’s young and vibrant real estate sector. This will avail them with more chances to increase the income inflows that can see them support their lives.”
“The moods within the club circles are hopeful and enthusiastic to join other members who have started and already taking something into their pockets. Let’s observe this crossroads for rugby as a whole in Uganda await for its glorious fruits. For now, stay safe,” it concludes.
Those who have completed the course received certification.
