Chiefs have released their squad that will battle against Crusaders in Hamilton on Saturday 1 August.
Fly-half Aaron Cruden will make his 100th appearance for the Chiefs and he replaces Kaleb Trask who drops to the bench. Brad Webber is the scrum-half.
In the absence of injured Solomon Alaimalo, Shaun Stevenson returns to the starting squad to play on the right-wing while Sean Wainui fills Alaimalo gap on the left. Damian McKenzie stays at fullback.
Alex Nankivell and Anton Leinert-Brown will run in the midfield. Pita Gus Sowakula, Sam Cane, Lachlan Boshier are the loose forwards. Tupou Vaa’i and Mitchell Brown are locks while Reuben O’Neill, Bradley Slater and Nepo Laulala will lead the pack.
All Blacks prop Angus Ta’avao has recovered from a long-term injury and could make his first Super Rugby Aotearoa appearance after being named on the bench. Lock Naitoa Ah Kuoi is back from a concussion and he is also on the bench. Simon Parker is set to make his debut off the bench.
