Burundian Rugby Federation (FBR) distributed equipment consisting of mask kits and other personal protective equipment as part of the fight against COVID-19.
The aid is in line with the objective initiated and supported by Rugby Africa, whose target is to support member federations affected by the global health crisis due to Covid-19.
Rugby players from six centres including Bujumbura, Gitega, Kayanza, Ngozi, Rumonge and Buyengero have benefited from this support.
20 teams (men and women) made up of more than 450 players received the equipment. A commission responsible for the fight against COVID-19 has been dispatched to these centres.
Besides the distribution of the materials, they passed a message to raise awareness on the measures to protect and fight against the spread of covid-19.
On the occasion, before the distribution of the material kit, community development work (CCT) was organized in the various centres.
These works are aimed at maintaining the playgrounds which will allow the resumption of activities. In this regard, a friendly rugby XV match was organized in Bujumbura on Sunday 7/26/2020.
Several players from different teams have merged to form new teams. This match allowed the enhancement of the game of rugby.
