With Kenya Harlequins having advertised the Head Coach role a month ago, interviews have been finalized and Nation Sport reports three foreigners are among the coaches who are keen take over the Ngong Road-based based side.
The outlet reports that two South Africans and a Belgian are among the six coaches who applied to replace Dominique Habimana.
The new coach is expected to be unveiled next week according to Quins chairman Michael Wanjala who did not reveal the names of those who applied.
“We have finalised the interviews but we still remain with a few administrative issues to work on before we make the big announcement. I can’t give names now until we communicate the final results and announce the coaching team,”. ” Wanjala told Nation Sports.
Experienced Habimana who led the side last season was not among the six coaches who applied for the role but he is expected to be part of the technical bench.
The former Kenya Simbas forwards coach took the Quins job ni months ago, replacing Charles Cardovillis who quit the club few days into his second season.
The 2008 Kenya Cup Champions endured a tough season under Habimana winning just five matches in the entire campaign. They ended the season at position nine with 27 points.
