Kenya Cup side Menengai Oilers are keen to have Geoffrey Ominde who joined the side from Nakuru on a lead deal, extend his stay at Club.
Standard Sports reports that the Club’s Head Coach Gibson Weru is impressed with the player following his superb displays during his first months at the Club.
Gibu is hoping to have him stay longer at Nakuru ASK Showground after his loan spell lapses.
“We still need his services and we will retain him once his contract expires. His contribution towards our performance in the local league and other assignments has been commendable,” Weru told the Standard.
Ominde arrived at the Club during the December-January transfer window for a season-long stay. He joined the club alongside Dalmus Chituyi and Impala’s Academy Graduate Mark Kwemoi.
The three boosted Oilers to a sixth-place finish in the Kenya Cup campaign finishing ahead of their neighbour Nakuru thanks to eight wins in the 16 matches played. Oilers bagged 41 points for a top-six finish.
Oilers are scheduled to play Homeboyz Rugby in the Kenya Cup playoffs.
