Kenya Simbas and Impala Saracens half-back Sam Onsomu has urged his fellow athletes to be creative and stay fit during this period where all sports activities have been forced into a break.
The local Rugby action was suspended in mid-March just before the Kenya Cup and KRU Championship action reached the quarters. It’s now the 20 days since the leagues were suspended and players are not training due regulations that bars gatherings.
Onsomu in his sensitization video shared by Kenya Rugby Union urged the locals to stay at home and follow instructions which include washing hands, sanitizing and keeping a social distance.
“I just want to remind everyone to stay safe. Stay at home if you can, wash your hands, sanitize and ensure you keep the social distance,” he said.
He went on to advice athletes to find ways that will make them stay active at this period when there are no training sessions.
“For the athletes, I want to remind you to be creative, feed the muscles and be active in the smallest way possible. Just remember to stay safe,” he added.
