MMUST Captain Samuel Mbeche is set to stay out of action for months after having a surgery his right knee on Tuesday 24 March 2020.
The centre picked an anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing for MMUST in 2019. The injury saw him miss the opening two legs of the National 7s Circuit. He would return to action during Dala 7s and helped his side to an eighth-place finish in the National 7s Circuit.
Mbeche would also feature in the KRU Championship till 18 January 2020 when the injury aggravated as he played in their 25-8 win over Catholic Monks. He was forced to watch from the sidelines as MMUST beat Egerton, USIU, Eldoret, Kisii and UoE to book a direct semi-final slot.
The Nairobi School Alumnus is delighted to have had a successful surgery as the injury had derailed his progress. He hopes to have a smooth recovery and return to action soon.
“I’m happy now. Working towards my recovery soon,” he told Scrummage.
