Kenya Rugby Union has postponed the Annual General Meeting which was scheduled for Wednesday 25 March 2020.
According to the statement released by the Union, the meeting has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic which has led to the cancellation of non-essential movements and gatherings. The Union will announce a new date later.
“Further to the Notice of Annual General Meeting issued on 26.02.2020 for the said meeting to be held on Wednesday 25th March 2020, the Board has no alternative but to postpone the meeting based on the current Corona Virus situation Worldwide,” reads a statement by KRU.
“The Ministry of Health has strictly advised against non-essential movements and gatherings of persons and it is in light of this that we postpone the above. We will advise a new date for the meeting keeping in line with the requisite notice periods for setting a new date,” the statement further reads.
Kenya Rugby Union was also forced to suspend the Kenya Cup and other local leagues season due to the outbreak.
