Menengai High School are the winners of the Nakuru County Secondary Schools Rugby 15s games after 28-0 win over Molo High School on Saturday 7 March.
Griffins Andalia was the man of the match as he scored twice in the win. Nicodemus Mang’ok and Tyson Maina also scored a try each in the win. Tony Oketch got all the conversions right in the clash.
The side will now represent the County in the regional games. Menengai went on an unbeaten run to scoop the title. In the semis, Menengai whipped Koelel 45-0 while Molo blanked Maryland following a 21-0 scoreline.
In Pool phase, Menengai beat Jomo Kenyatta 39-0, Molo 36-0, Njoro Day 28-0. Molo, on the other hand, beat Jomo Kenyatta 19-10, lost to Menengai and bounced back to winning ways by thrashing Njoro 38-0 to reach the semis.
In the third place, Koelel needed two tries to beat Maryland for a podium finish.
Utumishi School won the 7s title after extra time 12-7 win over Nakuru Boys. The sides played to a 7-7 draw in regular time.
Leeroy Makachia scored the crucial sudden death try that gave utumishi victory.
