St. Mary’s Yala win Siaya 15s, Chianda crowned 7s champs

St. Mary’s Yala have qualified for the regional 15s games after producing a remarkable performance in the Siaya County games.

In both versions, round-robin was used to determine the winner and the school which amassed more points was crowned the winner.

Yala were unbeaten in 15s and retained the 15s title. The side drubbed their counterparts Ugenya high school  60-0 in a game that the referee ended it prematurely after the ruthless Yala hit 60- point mark at halftime. St. Mary’s Yala had earlier thrashed Ambira high 50-0 and Chianda 66-0

Ambira had earlier struggled past Chianda winning the game 3-0. Chianda, however, managed to get a win over Ugenya high school defeating them 51-0. Yala join regional foes Maseno School in the regional games to be held in Migori County.

In 7s, Ambira and Chianda have qualified for the regional games after producing some stunning performances. Chianda beat Ambira 14-7 in when they met before returning the favour against Yala, whipping them 28-0. They were held to a 17 all draw by Maranda in their last game.

Ambira redeemed themselves after the Chianda defeat to brush aside Usinda 24-0 and Yala 14-0.
