Koyonzo are the Kakamega County Secondary School 7s Champions following a 15-10 win over Mukumu in the final staged at St Peters Mumias.
The clash had to be decided in extra time after a 10-10 draw in regular time
Koyonzo tries in regular time were scored by James Mulati who bagged a brace for 10 points after his tries went unconverted
Mukumu, on the other hand, scored their tries through Kevin Mulupi and George Musi. They also failed to add the extras hence forcing the clash to go into extra time
Marvin Mashali would turn out to be the hero as scored the third try for Koyonzo in sudden death and handed his side the first title.
The two will now be joined by Butere who finished thiird in the three-day competition. Butere beat Chebuyusi 21-0 thanks to three converted tries.
The teams will have next week to sharpen their skills before proceeding to Busia County’s Nambale for Western Region games which will kick off on 18 March.
