Kenya 7s have dropped to the 13th place semis after a 28-19 loss to Samoa in a ninth-place semi-final played at Dignity Park

Philip Luki sliced through Kenya 7s defence and released David Afamasaga who scored despite being pressured by Kenya 7s defenders.
Sammy Oliech levelled the scores after a darting run which saw him break to score for Kenya and converted for a 7-7 tie. Kenya led for the first time after Daniel Taabu spotted that Vincent Onyala’s marker had rushed in defence. He picked Onyala with a long pass and Onyala scored to hand Kenya a 12-7 lead.
In the second half, Uaina Sione scored the second try for Samoa which was converted by Melani Matavao for a 14-12 lead.
Onyala restored Kenya 7s lead scoring after being set up by Taabu. A kick and chase saw Sione race on for the third converted try for Samoa.
Elisapeta Alofipo ensured Samoa bagged a win after another converted. Samoa proceed to the ninth place semis while Kenya will now play Wales in the 13th place semis at 10:11 PM.
