Mwamba affirmed their place in the playoffs with a sounding 55-22 thrashing of Nondies at the Jamhuri grounds.
Mwamba have now won six of the last seven enncounters, with one having ended in a 12-12 draw.
The win assures Mwamba of the their third playoff beginning 2015. It also makes it two in a row after they made last season’s semi finals.
Ronnie Mwenesi scored first for the home team before Pablo Machanje replied for the black shirts. A conversion and a three pointer put the home team ahead at this point.
Steven Sikuta then tapped from a penalty to run over two defenders on his way to scoring for Mwamba.
Sikuta was at it against moments later, showing sheer strength to break the first line of defense to cover a good distance before releasing an oncoming Hulk Asira to score an easy one near the posts.
The red Lions would get one through Steve Otieno before Mike Okello who was playing on the wing grabbed a brace. Another try from Mwamba made the scores 34-17 as Brian Mwangi struggled getting the ball in between the uprights from the boot.
The second half saw Rony Omondi link up with Mike Okello to tear apart the Nondies backline. A returning Tony Omondi then slotted in the resulting conversion from wide out to announce his comeback.
Okello then offloaded another for Tony Owuor to score before Joel Inzuga ran a hard line to score between the sticks. Substitute Tom Soteri scored from close range, Omondi converting for a 55-22.
