Homeboyz kept their blistering form alive, producing a dominant display to see off Nakuru 47-5 in a clash staged at the Jamhuri grounds.
The home team ran in seven tries, four coming in the first half while Nakuru managed just one in the muddy and slippery affair along Ngong road.
The deejays started the clash all guns blazing and it would take them under ten minutes for Lord Mugaisi to show why he is termed as so. Receiving the ball with a one-man advantage Mugaisi saw no need of releasing the ball, dummying before going over the white chalk to open proceedings for the home side.
Things would then get slippery for the visitors as Mugaisi chased down and collected a grabber kick behind the green defence, holding off a determined Hannington Wabwire to offload the ball to a rushing Michael Wanjala who dotted down under the posts. Asena added the extras to make the scores 14-0.
The home boys then asserted their dominance in the scrum, pushing over one to let Asena split the uprights to make matters 21-0. A lapse in concentration allowed Joshua Chisanga to tap and carry over the line from a penalty right on Nakuru’s five-meter mark. Despite Wanyore putting up a strong opposition later in the half, they were not able to score any points leaving the scores 28-0 heading into the breather.
The yellow party resumed immediately after the whistle signifying the start of the second stanza. Stanley Isogol safely received the ball to burst into a 40-meter run leaving the Nakuru defence in sixes and sevens. Jan Remke would then receive the ball to run into an inviting gap, scoring the Deejays’ fifth. Asena’ s attempt to convert the try was unsuccessful leave the scores at 33-0.
Nakuru scored their first points through Gramwel Bunyasi before Chisanga produced a moment of magic, running over three Nakuru defenders to score his second, Mohammed Omollo slotting in the extra twos to make it 40-5.
Substitute Eliphaz Emong got himself on the score sheet late in the game, capitalising in another defensive error to walk in between the sticks for Omollo to take the scores to 47-5.
