Kenya finish 13th in Singapore 7s

Kenya 7s have finished 13th at the Singapore 7s after a 21-5 win over Spain in the 13th place playoffs played on Sunday, they leave the tournament with three points.

Kenya first points in the game came from a try after Eden Agero released Vincent Onyala who raced on to score, Daniel Taabu added extras for Kenya take a 7-0 lead.

Agero was at it again minutes later, this time around setting up Bush Mwale after breaking on the left flank.  Taabu’s conversion was on target Kenya would head to the break with a clean sheet.

Spain came from the break determined to overturn the result and they piled pressure on Kenya. Kenya were dealt a blow after Bush Mwale was sin-binned after tapping the ball.

Immediately after he stepped out, Spain struck via Alejandro Alonso to cut the gap to 14-5.  Taabu then produced a clean pair of heels to score the third converted try for Kenya 7s.

Kenya 7s held on to pick a win. Focus now shifts on the final two legs set for May.
