Taabu with a brace as Kenya fall short against USA


Kenya 7s suffered a narrow 17-14 loss to USA in the second of the Singapore 7s Pool C played on Saturday morning.

Paul Murung charges were seeking to rise from match one loss to England which they went down 36-7. The Kenyans started off well after three minutes of play, Daniel Taabu beat USA defence to score a converted try.

Kenya had no time to celebrate as Carlin Isles responded after two minutes and Madison Hughes conversion sent the side level.

Isles ensured that Mike Friday charges went to the break leading by five points.

On return from the break, Hughes picked the ball from the scrum and dashed to score their third try.  Vincent Onyala the set up Taabu who raced on to get a converted try for Kenya.

Kenya would lose the ball in final seconds 0f the game and suffered the second straight defeat in Singapore. They are bottom in Pool C with two points,
