Impala Saracens whipped Mwamba 71-19 in an Enterprise Cup quarter-finals match staged at Impala Club on Saturday.
Kenyan International Sam Onsumu opened the scores while Quinto Oongo added the extras. Mwamba leveled the scores through speedster Collins Injera’s try that was converted by Eugene Nzioka.
Injera’s sibling Mike Agevi was sin-binned and Impala added the second converted try through Billy Omondi. Sammy Oliech crossed over for the third try but Mwamba trimmed the gap after Injera scored his second minutes after Elkeans Musonye was sent off to the sin-bin.
Anthony Odhiambo was set up by Oliech to stretch Impala’s lead before Steve Juma added another try for a 38-14 scoreline at the break.
In the closing half, Erick Kerre, Omondi added five points each after Nzioka was sent to the naughty chair. Nyandigisi and Oongo added two tries each for a 71-14 lead. Yahya Hussein added an unconverted try for a 71-19 loss.
Impala will face KCB in the semis.
