KakaKakamega High beat spirited Dagoretti High 18-11 at Shimo La Tewa High School to be crowned the National 15s Champions for the Eighth time.
Dagoretti were making the first appearance in the finals while Kakamega High were playing in the finals for the 10th time in 28 years. The Barbarians had not lost a final played outside Kisii but they were yet to reach finals of 15s games played at the Coast.

A tight opening half was witnessed with Timothy Lugalia converting a penalty for Dago to lead 3-0. Kakamega responded with two tries for a 10-3 scoreline. The first try was scored after a maul which saw the ball channeled to Alvin Mutachi who raced to score on at the corner.
Collins Indeche added the second try but Kakamega missed their conversion attempt. Lugalia would trim the gap to four points after splitting the post with his second penalty.
Dagoreti went to the break leading 11-10 after a try by George Gravin. The second half saw Kakamega regain the lead after Emmanuel Mwinamo converted a penalty.
Indeche reduced pressure on Amos Wamanga coached side after dotting his second and third for Kakamega High. The Barbarians held on to win.
Kangaru will play in the East and Central 15s games scheduled for August in Tanzania after finishing third in the competition. Two tries with one being converted ensured that The East Region Champions won 12-7.
