Kisii RFC’s loose forward Amos Obae believes Championship teams have really grown and hence the stiff competition in the ongoing matches.
Tight margins have been witnessed in the opening five matches especially in the Western Conference and Obae who is grateful of the Kenya Cup experience gained in the 2017/18 season says the scorelines show that many teams are keen to earn a Kenya Cup slot.
‘Playing in Kenya was a great experience, at least we know how to approach matches. However, the Championship is way different, every team is targeting promotion, mostly the western conference is tighter. Teams have really grown and they mean competition and not participation. he told Scrummage.
To Kisii RFC fans, Obae reaffirmed to showcase a replica of stellar performance to earn promotion and his individual target is to be the best player in 2019.
‘We ain’t going to let them down we are giving our all till we get back to Kenya cup.
Personally I want to come out as the best player of the season,’ he concluded.
Kisii are currently fourth in the KRU Championship log with four wins out of five and are looking forward to Kick-off 2019 action against Mombasa RFC next weekend.
