On Saturday 16,Uganda started their rugby world cup qualification campaign on a low note going down to the Namibians 55-6.However,John Duncan still believes it’s not over and his side will bounce back.
The South African tactician pointed out their slow start as one of their undoing which saw his side trail with more than 20 points in the first 25 minutes.
“I think Namibia played particularly well and got off to a good start. We seemed to be chasing the game and made a lot of unforced errors” he said in a post match interview.
Uganda cranes will travel to Kenya to play their next game against Kenya Simbas on 7th July in a match which will double up as Elgon Cup second leg.The first leg of Elgon Cup saw Kenya win the tie 34-16 to seize the advantage.
“Sport is about bouncing back and showing character and these guys have the character. We back them 100% and we need to tighten a few areas” He added.
Uganda will have three home games in this year’s Gold Cup.They will host Tunisia,Morocco and Zimbabwe on 4th,11th and 18th August respectively.
“All is not lost, the final game will decide who is going where,”John Duncan.
