KSSSA 7s: Chavakali, St Peters through to the Western Region semis

Vihiga County Champions Chavakali and runners-up Vihiga are through to the semifinals of the ongoing Western Region rugby 7s games staged at St Peter Mumias in Kakamega County.
Chavakali were the first to qualify for the last four after beating Mukumu 14-7 in the first quarters. Chavakali touched down twice and successfully converted their tries while Maina William scored Mukumu’s consolation try.
Musingu out
Their neighbors Vihiga also qualified after crossing over three times and converted two of the three tries to eliminate Kakamega County runners-up Musingu on a 19-5 scoreline.
Hosts St Peter’s who went to the break leading 7-0 came back re-energized and scored 15 more points for a 22-7 win over Kibabii.
Bungoma blows away Burumba
Bungoma saw off Busia representatives Burumba after a 29-7 win. Quick converted tries in the opening minutes handed the side a 14-0 lead. Burumba would reduce the deficit with a converted try but Bungoma touched down the third try for a 19-7 lead at halftime.
10 more points in the final half saw the side win 29-7.
