Blak Blad halfback Brian Wahinya has set sights on assisting his side reach all the finals of the upcoming National 7s circuit.
Wahinya’s stellar perfomance saw him debut for Kenya’s national sevens team as they won the invitational Victoria Falls 7s held in Zimbabwe in March and he hopes to earn more call ups.
“My target is to aid my team to feature in all finals this season.Iam also keen on earning the Kenya 7s call up again and be part of the side that will represent the country during the 2018/19 season,”Wahinya said.
On the concluded 2017/18 Kenya Cup season,the youthful halfback candidly admitted that the university side could have done much better having missed out on the playoffs.
“The season was fair ; being my second season with my team. I was not contented with our showing and I expect more from us,”he added.
The National 7s circuit starts on Saturday 21 July with the Prinsloo leg in Nakuru county while the 2018/19 Kenya Cup season is scheduled to get underway in September.
