KCB backrower to captain Kenya Simbas in Kampala

In the absence of injured Wilson Kopondo,KCB backrower Davis Chenge has been appointed Kenya Simbas skipper for Saturday’s Elgon Cup first leg duel against Uganda in Kampala. 
Being among the longest serving members of the national 15s set up,the former Western Bulls stalwart brings to the side a vast wealth of experience having previously featured for the national sevens side.
Davis Chenge captains the squad to Kampala for this weekend’s first leg encounter against Uganda at the Legends Rugby Club,” reads a communique from the Kenya Simbas.
Simbas will be out to retain the Elgon Cup having won 23-18 in Kampala in 2017 before a 33-all stalemate in Nairobi saw them win a 10th Elgon Cup crown.
The return leg which also acts as an Africa Gold Cup fixure will be played on 7 July in Nairobi.
