MMUST whips Eldoret, books a place in 2018/19 KRU Championship


MMUST rugby hammered former Kenya Cup side Eldoret 30-5  in a Nationwide semi final clash staged at MMUST University Grounds on Saturday and booked a place in the Nationwide finals and 2018/19 KRU Championship.
The Kakamega based side scored 16 points in the opening half against Eldoret’s five points. Derrick Okisai opened the scores with a penalty. MMUST would add two unconverted tries and a penalty for a 16-5 lead at halftime.
The side added two converted tries in the final half for 14 more points.

To book a place in the national quarter finals Ochieng Ahaya coached side beat Maseno 22-5 in the Western Region finals. They whipped visiting TUM Marines 39-5 to reach the semi finals.
They face Kitale RFC who made to the finals after downing Swara in the other semi final tie staged in Nairobi at Impala Club.
