Kenya 7s head coach Innocent Simiyu said that the side’s performance at the Sydney and Hamilton tournaments was a good platform for the later stages of the world 7s series. 

Shujaa finished at 7th position in Sydney after garnering 10 points before a slight improvement saw them claim 6th spot in Hamilton after losing in the 5th place final.

“We are quite happy with the way the boys played. They gave  everything. It was a good platform to build on going into the later part of the season,”Simiyu told KRU’s portal. 

Oscar Ouma, who captaimed the side in the two legs assured that the teams goal still remains garnering a maximum of 100 points at the conclusion of the season.

 “We had a good outing, collecting 22 points. Our goal still remains the same…attaining 100 points and we are on the right track,”Ouma said.
Kenya 7s currently occupies 8th spot on the overall standings having amassed 35 points after four legs.
For the USA 7s slated for 2nd to 4th match,the side is in pool A alongside Hamilton 7s champions Fiji,France and Russia.
