Impala Saracens beat visiting Nakuru RFC 43-36 in a Kenya Cup round nine tie at the Impala Club on Saturday 10 February.
The hosts took an early 7-0 lead after Quinto Ongo converted Ian Minjire’s try before Nakuru drew level with a converted try of their own.
Quinto would restore Impala’s lead with two successive penalties before a five pointer and a penalty by Wanyore saw them lead 15-13.
The visitors would stun the home side yet again as they grabbed a converted try on the stroke of half-time to take a 22-13 advantage to the break.
Quinto, who was having a good day in office converted Vincent Mose’s try before splitting the posts with a penalty to hand the hosts a 23-22 advantage.
The lead would keep own changing hands yet again as Nakuru went over for a converted try to ensure scores read 29-23 in their favour.
Quinto would cut the deficit with a 3 pointer before Daniel Ndome,Paul Mutsami and Ian Minjire all crossed the whitewash to hand the sarries a 43-29 advantage.
A late try by Nakuru was not enough as Impala held on to claim a winning bonus point courtesy of a 43-36 win.
