Four matches into the 2017/18 Kenya Cup season and Mwamba RFC finds itself in an unfamiliar territory, languishing at the basement of the log.
Four consecutive losses to Kabras, Quins, Impala and Strathmore mean that Kulabu currently sit at 11th position on the 12-team log having only managed a single point,an issue that head coach Kevin Wambua admits has to be addressed as soon as possible.
“We are at a very precarious position and no one expects a side which made it to thr playoffs last season to be flirting with relegation this early. We are not even thinking of relegation right now,”Wambua told Scrummage.
“We have to go back to the drawing board and train harder as we seek to improve on the few areas that have let us down in the first four matches,”he noted.
Mwamba’s first assignment after the festive break will be a home tie against fellow strugglers Mombasa RFC on Saturday,13 January at the Railways Club starting 1600hrs.
