Western Bulls managed to see off a resolute Egerton Wasps 12-8 in a KRU championship match staged in Njoro on Saturday,9 December.
The university side drew first blood courtesy of an unconverted try before Western Bulls responded through Eliab Barasa to level matters.
Egerton Wasps would retake the lead through a penalty kick before Bulls squandered a similar opportunity to tie the scores.
Teddy Akala would ensure that the match went to the break with Echulusi on the front foot,as he landed a converted try,scores reading 12-8 in favour of Bulls at the interval.
A cagey second half saw neither of the sides getting onto the scoresheet,as Western Bulls missed a winning bonus point for the first time this season.
At the USIU grounds,a Charles Kuka inspired perfomance saw the hosts come from 5-0 down to dismiss South coast pirates with a 21-5 scoreline.
The university students managed three tries,and three penalties against Pirates’ single unconverted try.
