Kenya 7s threw a 14-0 halftime lead to lose 21-14 to France on Saturday 9 December in the opening pool A match at the ongoing Cape Town 7s.
After a cagey openinng exchanges,Kenya 7s broke the deadlock after Samuel Oliech was put through by Brian Tanga to land a converted try between the posts.
On the stroke of halftime,Brian Tanga received a wonderful offload from Dan Sikuta,before going over for an easy try that was converted by Eden Agero,Shujaa leading 14-0 at the interval.
France pulled one back after resumption,courtesy of a try by Jean Baptiste Mazoue,scores reading 14-7.
Baptiste Barraque and Stephen Perez scored in quick succession after a series of Kenyan mistakes as the French took a 21-14 lead.
Despite playing the latter stages of the match a man less,France held on to claim an important 21-14 win.
Kenya’s next match is against Russia at 4:48pm before winding its pool A matches with a tricky match against host South Africa at 8:56pm.
