Kenya 7s head coach Innocent Simiyu said that their main goal at this weekend’s Cape Town 7s is to do much better than they did in last year’s edition.

Shujaa managed to garner 10 points from last weekend’s Dubai 7s after reaching the cup quarters where they narrowly lost 14-12 to New Zealand before they were ousted from the 5th place playoff by Australia.

“Our key focus in Cape Town is to have the boys consistently perform to their full potential and better last year’s cup quarterfinal performance,”Simiyu told Kenya Rugby’s official portal.

“We started the season well. The boys put their best foot forward. We are happy so far with the performance and believe we can build on that.We need to execute better as we have  the potential to close games early. The key focus in Dubai was to get our game going and we achieved this,”he added.

Kenya 7s is in pool A for this weekend’s Cape Town 7s alongside South Africa,France and Russia.
