Mwamba RFC coach Kevin Wambua said that the injury suffered by the team’s captain Edwin Machanje in their 30-12 loss to Impala Saracens was not too serious.
Machanje picked a soft tissue injury in a clash which Kulabu conceded 25 points in the second half of the match and Wambua revealed that it will not sideline the skipper for a lengthy period.
“He will have to sit out for a few days to recover but nothing serious that will require further attention,”Wambua told the club’s portal.
On the result against Impala, the boss picked positives, saying that the side is on the right track and they aim at bouncing back against Sportpesa Quins this weekend after a winless start to the new campaign.
“In our match against Kabras we held our own against bigger and better opponent but this week we just didn’t play according to our plan. Hopefully, we shall rectify our mistakes and put in improved performance against Kenya Harlequins next weekend,” he noted.
Week three of the 2017/18 Kenya Cup season will see Mwamba travel to the RFUEA grounds for a date with old foes Sportpesa Quins.
