Matches between Homeboyz and Impala Saracens during the 15s season will be used to commemorate the side’s fallen players,Peter and Andrew Wekesa.
The cup sponsored by Kings Rugby Development Academy(KRDA) will be in contention starting this weekend when the side’s clash in a Kenya Cup round three match but the winner will be decided on the aggregate result.
“This weekend we honour The Late Peter, John and Andrew in the KRDA Wekesa Cup that will be played against Impala RFC in Nairobi.The Cup is sponsored by Kings Rugby Development Academy (KRDA) and honours the Late Andrew and Peter Wekesa who played for both Homeboyz RFC and Impala RFC. Any time the two teams meet in the 15’s season, the Cup will be in contention with the aggregate score deciding the winner,”a statement from Homeboyz Rugby reads.
Homeboyz players will allso don black armbands and have a moment of silence in honour of the departed.
Andrew Wekesa,a former Homeboyz player passed away early this year after a robbery attack while his brothers Peter and John passed on on 5 November in a tragic road accident.
