Impala Saracens have maintained top spot on the Kenya Cup log after securing a 20-12 win over Mwamba on Saturday,2 December at the Impala Club.

Both sides were wasteful in the early stages of the match,with Mwamba sending a penalty wide off target.

In what was proving to be a cagey first half,both sides defended well until on the stroke of haltime when youngster Mark Kwemoi was freed before going over for a try but Xavier Bett failed to convert,Impala taking a slim 5-0 lead to the break.

After resumption, the match burst into life with Kwemoi extending Impala’s lead with a penalty before converting Derrick Mayar’s try to send the sarries 15-0 up.

Daniel Ndome landed Impala’s third try in superb form but Kwemoi failed as he attempted to add the extra two.

Mwamba pulled one back,grabbing a converted try to take the scores to 20-7 but Impala would add to their tally as Mark Kwemoi played through Derrick Mayar who crossed the tryline to send the Sarries 27-7 up.

Mwamba landed their second try of the match but Impala would have the last say of the contest,Kwemoi booting in a penalty to seal a 30-12 win for the sarries.
