Impala Boks came from 15-7 down at halftime to claim a 17-15 win over Mwamba II in an Eric Shirley Shield match on Saturday,2 December.

Heading to this match,Impala Boks had been handed a walkover on matchday one as Mwamba lost to Kabras II in Kakamega.

Impala II were 7-0 up early in the match after Kariuki Kanyiri converted Shem Joseph’s try but the juniour Kulabu side would draw level after they were awarded a penalty try.

Daniel Taabu would soon hand Mwamba the lead,drilling in a penalty after Shem was adjudged to have committed an infringement which saw him sent to the sinbin.

Felix Otieno added to Mwamba II’s tally,going over the chalk for an unconverted try to take the scores to 15-7.

Robin Kiplang’at cut the deficit for the Impala reserve side,going over the chalk after resumption before Kanyiri added the extras to make it a one point game with Mwamba enjoying a slender advantage.

Impala restored their advantage as Kanyiri coolly slotted home a penalty kick to take the scores to 17-15,an advantage they held on to the final whistle.
