Kenya 7s has been sent packing at the ongoing Dubai 7s after losing 19-12 to Australia in the 5th place semi final on Saturday afternoon.

Australia landed the first points of the match through an unconverted try before Kenya 7s responded after Brian Tanga put through Willy Ambaka for a try which was converted,Shujaa leading 7-5 at the interval.

After resumption,Australia restored their lead courtesy of two tries by Larchy Anderson and Matthew to  go 19-7 up.

Nelson Oyoo would then respond for Shujaa with an unconverted try but it was too little too late as theAussies held their nerve to sail to the 5th place final with a 19-12 scoreline.

Innocent Simiyu’s charges will now shift focus to next weekend’s Cape Town 7s,the second leg of the World 7s series.
