A 29-14 win over Uganda aided by a Blitzboks win over Canada was enough to seal quarter final qualification for Kenya at the ongoing Dubai 7s.

Innocent Simiyu’s charges went to the match without talisman Collins Injera after the speedster picked a muscle strain in the loss to South Africa earlier.

Dennis Ombachi landed the first points for Shujaa between the sticks but he unfortunately picked an injury in the process,ending his match prematurely.

Uganda would draw level courtesy of a try by Kenyan based Solomon Okia before Eden Agero and Dan Sikuta scored in succession,Shujaa leading 19-7 at the break.

Uganda reduced the deficit to 5 points with their second converted try of the match but skipper Oscar Ayodi would extend Kenya’s lead to 24-14 after beating his opponents on pace.

Brian Tanga would put the icing on the cake for Shujaa after scoring a brilliant try to ensure the side claimed a 29-14 win.
