Homeboyz RFC head coach Paul Murunga expressed his delight after guiding his charges to a 41-39 win over Sportpesa Quins in their Kenya Cup opener on 28 November.

Heading to Tuesday’s clash,the Deejays had already gotten the better of Quins barely a month ago when they rallied to claim a 20-16 win at the Impala Floodlit tournament quarter finals.

“A very crucial win for us.The boys really impressed.I was a little bit worried about our match fitness but our participation in the Floodies really helped us,”Murunga told Scrummage.

The win over Quins propelled Murunga’s charges to 5th place on the Kenya Cup log having garnered 5 points.

Homeboyz’s next assignment will see them face Nondies at the Jamhuri park on Saturday,starting 1600hrs.
