Mombasa RFC team manager Kevin Odhiambo acknowledged that stage fright was the cause in his side’s 48-0 loss at the hands of Impala in the Kenya Cup opener on Saturday,25 November.

Timothy Makiya’s double on debut as well as tries by Michael Gitau,Mark Kwemoi,Edgar Obino,George Okowa,Samuel Motari and Anthony Nyandigisi saw the Dumes succumb to a heavy loss on their top flight return.

“This match was not reflective of our pre-season work. I think our players experienced stage fright. It was also a bad day in office for us. We face BlakBlad at home & we are looking forward to that match,”Odhiambo is quoted on the Impala Saracens portal.

Matchday two will see the side host University side Blak Blad at their Mombasa home ground starting 1600hrs.
