Western Bulls came from 8-0 down at halftime to beat Kisumu RFC in the Championship opener this Saturday,25 November at the Mamboleo Showground.

Bulls managed four tries against Kisumu’s single try and two penalties.The hosts were first off the blocks,drilling in a penalty and an unconverted try to take an 8-0 advantage to the break.

Bulls managed to score in the second period courtesy of tries by Nickson Nyandieka,Chrispin Shitundo(2),Suleiman Odongo as Dennis Ojiambo drilled in a single conversion to ensure the Kakamega based side started off their championship campaign with a 22-11 win.

Next in line for Howard Okwemba’s charges is a home time against University of Eldoret (UoE) as Kisumu RFC travels to Egerton.

At the Catholic University grounds,Mean Machine thrashed hosts CUEA Monks 34-0 to start off the new championship campaign with a bonus point win.
