USIU has started the 2017/18 Championship campaign on a good note after narrowly edging out Ngong RFC 20-13 at the Kibiko Secondary this Saturday,25 November.

The university side managed to cross the whitewash on two occassions courtesy of former Mwamba RFC youngster Charles Kuka and Joe Awori.

Kuka also managed two penalties and two conversions as Ngong grabbed a solitary converted try and two penalties.

USIU’s next assignment is an away tie against JKUAT as Ngong host CUEA Monks at Kibiko secondary grounds.

In Eldoret,scintillating Menengai Oilers saw off hosts University of Eldoret (UoE) 31-7 in a clash which they managed four tries courtesy of Billy Kizito,Daniel Abuonji,Hughes Anjera and skipper Clinton Odhiambo.Gibson Weru’s charges will host Moi Arsonists next weekend as UoE heads to Kakamega for a date with Western Bulls.
