Strathmore Leos head coach John Mbai admits that inconsistency has been one of his side’s major undoing.

The university side lost to Sportpesa Quins last weekend in the plate final at the Impala Floodlit tournament,a match which they gave away a halftime lead and Mbai hopes that his charges can put up consistent shows as the 2017/18 Kenya Cup season looms large.

“We are ready for the new season and we hope to compete favourably but we are not yet where we want to be especially in terms of consistency. We shall keep on learning from our mistakes and rectify where neccessary,”Mbai told Scrummage.

Strathmore will be hoping to improve on last season’s perfomance that saw them struggle for the better part of the campaign, finishing at 9th position;3 points off the relegation spot.

They get their season underway against defending champions KCB at their home ground in Madaraka.
