Newly named Kenya 7s skipper Oscar Ayodi has expressed optimism ahead of the 2017/18 World 7s series which gets underway with the Dubai 7s on 1 December.

Ayodi is expected to lead Innocent Simiyu’s charges as regular skipper Andrew Amonde is still nursing an injury sustained during this year’s national 7s circuit.

“We have been practicing for the past three months and the boys are confident of a good performance in Dubai and Cape Town because we have had a good pre-season,”Ayodi is quoted by Kenya Rugby.

“We are looking forward to a good performance since the team has been conditioned well under the new Strength and Conditioning coach,”he noted.

“We have always had a target of 100 points which we haven’t attained, so we want to tick the right boxes first then we can set other targets. With the training that we have had, we will achieve those 100 points this season,”the Homeboyz RFC man added.

The Kenya 7s team that will do duty in Dubai and Cape Town will be named on Friday,24 November at 1200hrs.

In Dubai,Kenya 7s are set to colide with nemesis South Africa and Uganda as well as Canada.
