Menengai Oilers has retained the Impala Floodlit title of the universities category after edging out Catholic Monks 25-20 this Saturday, 18 November at the Impala Club. 

Oilers drew first blood landing a try which was converted by Fanoel Abuonji before Monks reduced the deficit through a penalty by Foster Isiche.

Rodgers Audi would then dive over for Oilera at the left corner but Abuonji’s conversion kick went wide.

Catholic Monks were then awarded a second penalty which they utilized to take the scores to 12-6.

Frank Atiti extended Oilers’ lead after bulldozing his way past the Monks backline before comfortably touching down between the sticks for a 19-6 lead.

Catholic Monks grabbed their first try of the match before Oilers responded through Daniel Abuonji’s penalty kick to take a 22-13 lead to the break.

After the restart, Felix Kegode barhed over for a Catholic Monks try which was converted to make it a two point game.

Daniel Abuonji,who was having a fantastic afternoon extended Oilers lead as he drilled home a three pointer from 30 metres out,taking the scores to 25-20;a lead which they held on to the final whistle.
