Homeboyz RFC have claimed a podium finish at the Impala Floodlit tournament with a 34-22 win over Mean Machine this Saturday, 18 November. 

After dominating the early exchanges, Homeboyz got themselves onto the driver’s seat as Nelson Sangurah touched down between the sticks before Haroun Lubisia added the extras.

The Deejays soon extended their tally with a second try courtesy of Polycarp Odhiambo but this time Lubisia was not successful in his bid to add the extras.

Israel Soi went over for Homeboyz’s third try of the match before Grevis Onyino pulled one back for Machine as Homeboyz led 17-7 at the break.

Samuel Mejja reduced the deficit for Machine after he scored off a rolling maul before Homeboyz bagged their fourth try of the match through Thomas Okidia.

Mejja would then seal his brace as he dived over under the posts for a converted  try, making it a three point game at 22-19.

Machine tied the scores after utilizing a penalty but Stanley Isogol would restore Homeboyz’s advantage with a well taken try after sustained pressure on the Machine backline,but the resultant conversion sailed wide.

Collins Shikoli sealed Homeboyz’s win as he touched down for a converted try taking the scores to 34-22 to ensure Paul Murunga’s charges claimed third spot at this year’s floodlit tournament.
