Kenya Simbas head coach Jerome Paarwater says that the eight new players handed a start in Tuesday’s loss to Russia impressed.

The tactician rung 8 changes to the side that played Chile in the nations cup opener with rookie Alex Olaba among those who received the nod to start against Russia.

” I was very happy with the new guys and their performance..they did not disappoint.I told the team that it is a squad effort and everybody who traveled is going to get an opportunity to start,”Paarwater is quoted by Kenya Rugby.

“The important thing is depth in the squad and I am now confident knowing that these guys played a tough game and they must maintain their standards,”he adds.

The side will tackle hosts Hong Kong in their final fixture of the Cup of Nations on Saturday, 18 November.
