Kenya Harlequins forward, Tony Mutai has expressed his team’s wish to be part of the Kenya Cup finals this season.
The Ngong Road based club journey in Kenya Cup last season ended at the semi final stage after they lost 19-12 to KCB in a match staged at Ruaraka Sports Club.
This season the side is keen to improve on last season performance and Mutai states that playing in Kenya Cup finals this season is what they will be chasing.
“As a player my target is just to contribute to what the club wants to achieve and as a team is do better than we did last season because last season we were at the semis and this season in Kenya Cup we want to get at least to the finals this year, he told the Scrummage.
Mutai who started as a lock in their Impala Floodlit tournament clash against Kisii scooped the man of the match award. He is delighted to have won the award and believes that their 43-19 victory was as a result of proper execution of their systems.
“It’s a good feeling (Winning MVP award) especially at this time of the season and i am so happy about it. It’s just our systems we have been working on and we executed them well, he added.
Kenya Harlequins will battle it out with Strathmore in the plate finals.
