Mean Machine head coach Phelim Kidakwa says that his side’s decision making in the 20-10 loss to Impala last weekend was wanting.

Machine had at one point rallied to tie the scores at 10-all in the clash before Impala was awarded a penalty try with Mark Kwemoi putting the icing on the cake with a well taken drop-goal, eliminating the university side from this year’s Floodlit tournament.

“I believe slight immaturity and poor decision making was our major undoing today,”said Kidakwa.

“We were quite disjointed for the better part of the match and our backs could not even get the ball,”he further noted.

Honourable exit

“It is a honourable exit for me because no one gave Machine the chance to reach this far and we took the game to Impala,”he concluded.

The University of Nairobi side will now shift focus to the 2017/18 Championship season which is set to get underway on 25 November.
