Technical University of Kenya (TUK) head coach Claudias Oduor admits that his side’s inexperience may have come into play as they fell 29-3 to Menengai Oilers at the Impala Floodlit semi final in the varsities category.
Oduor’s charges could only manage a single penalty during the match, and the loss meant that the nationwide side bowed out of the tournament after having caused an upset against Strathmore II in the quarters.
“My players are very young and inexperienced. This was the first time they were playing at such a big stage,”said Oduor.
“Our perfomance in the match was so scrappy and given that this was a pre-season tournament,we still have a lot of work to do ahead of the new season,”he noted.
TUK will host Pioneer University in the opening round of the Nationwide league on 25 November.
