Kenya 7s was narrowly edged 24-21 by South Africa Select in their final pool clash at the ongoing Assupol 7s on Saturday 11 November in Namibia. 

Kenya managed 3 tries and 3 conversions while the South Africa Select side grabbed 4 tries and two conversions.

Eden Agero handed Kenya a perfect start after racingvto the tryline following a penalty awarded to the side.

Youngsted Angus Van Nierkerk Drew the South Africans level soon afterwards as he touched down under the posts for a converted try.

The South Africa Select side took the lead for the first time in the match just before the interval,making good use of a penalty awarded after Sammy Oliech had made a late challenge.

After resumption, Jeff Oluoch restored Kenya’s lead with a converted try but the South Africans responded with an unconverted try to take a 17-14 lead.

Eden Agero soon sealed his Brace as he went over for Shujaa’s third try of the match before the South Africa Select side grabbed a late winner to ensure the clash ended 24-21 in their favour.

With the win,south Africa finish top of the pool as Kenya 7s joins them in the semi finals after finishing second.
