Sportpesa Quins are through to the plate final of the Impala Floodlit after a 43-19 win over of Kisii RFC this Saturday, 11 October at Impala Club.
From a maul David Ahawo touched down for Quins before Erick Shikuku converted. Quins added a second try through Tony Mutai but Shikuku failed to convert.
Kang’ethe James added the third that was converted by Alex Mutune. Alvin Marube paced and touched down for Kisii and the try was converted.
Just before halftime, skipper Peter Misango touched down and Mutune converted for a 26-7 Quins lead.
Rodgers Gworo touched down the first try of the second half after several pick and drives from Kisii before Kevince Brian converted and taking scores to 26-14 in favour of Quins.
Tony Mutai then extended Quins lead after touching down for an unconverted try to take the scores to 31-14.
Soon afterwards,the Ngong Road based side added another try to their tally with Ugandan Aaron Ofoyrwoth converting.
Kang’ethe red card
Quins were dealt a major setback in the latter stages after prop James Kang’ethe was shown his marching orders for a high tackle.
Kisii grabbed a third try courtesy of Daniel Okitob but skiper Peter Misango put the result beyond doubt with a try at the death to seal a 43-19 win for Quins.
Quins will now contest the plate final against Strathmore Leos on Saturday, 18 November.
